Abstract

1,163,330. Frequency modulation receivers. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 30 Dec., 1966 [31 Dec., 1965], No. 58357/66. Heading H3R. In a superheterodyne receiver for frequencymodulated signals having a predetermined maximum frequency shift, the I.F. amplifier is tuned exclusively by RC filters and operates at a frequency less than five times the maximum frequency shift, suppression of image frequencies being obtained by limitation in the I.F. amplifier. The demodulator is preferably a monostable circuit feeding an integrating capacitor, and the demodulated signal may be fed back to control the local oscillator frequency thereby providing negative feedback and automatic frequency control. Switch means may be provided for altering the sign of the feedback so that the local oscillator can be stabilized at will on either side of the input frequency. The receiver may be constructed as an integrated circuit.
