Abstract
1,163,276. Combine-harvesters. BLANCH-LELY Ltd. 1 Dec., 1966 [1 Dec., 1965], No. 53951/66. Heading AlF. [Also in Division F1] In a self-propelled combine wherein the header is supported by two pairs of rams 12, 13 arranged between the opposite ends of a transverse beam 10 carried by the elevator-tunnel 4 and the corresponding ends of the front-axle 11 of the machine, the hydraulic circuits of the pairs of rams are in parallel, one circuit containing an accumulator, whereby the header may be lifted resiliently, and the other having no accumulator. The mower table 3 is in two parts pivoted separately about shafts 6 on the tunnel 4 and tiltable there about by rams 14. The reel 9 is driven by a hydraulic motor 18 and is adjustable vertically and horizontally by further rams 15, 16. The steering of the rear wheels (not shown in Fig. 1) is also hydraulically controlled. The hydraulic circuit is shown in Fig. 3; a double-acting ram 29 operates a steering rod 30 on the rear wheels 31 and is itself operated by a multiport valve 25 connected to the steering-wheel 26. The pump 21 feeds the remaining rams 12-16 through a bank of valves 43-50 accessible to the driver. The rams 13 are connected in parallel with an accumulator 53 and pressure gauge 54 but the circuit to the rams 12 has no accumulator. There is a lost-motion connection between the beam 10 and the rams 12 so that the movement of the platform by the rams 13 is not restricted by the rams 12.
