Abstract

A pigment preparation of a water-insoluble azo-dyestuff and a polymeric carrier is obtained by adding during the coupling or laking reaction a stabilized aqueous dispersion of (a) polyvinyl chloride, or (b) a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate and optionally butyl acrylate, or (c) a mixture of (a) and (b) and working further in a usual manner. The dispersion stabilizing agent may be a cationic, anionic or non-ionic dispersing agent. The pigments obtained are used for colouring PVC or PVC plastisols.
