Abstract

1,162,673. Balance springs. ANGLOCELTIC WATCH CO. Ltd. Dec.30, 1966 [Oct. 1, 1965 (3)], Nos. 41702/65, 41703/65 and 41704/65. Heading G3T. A hairspring 32-34 is attached at its outer end to an anchor post 10 and the outer turn of the hairspring has an axial step 34 so that the portion 33 of the outer turn is disposed in a plane axially offset from and parallel to the plane of the remainder of the hairspring. The anchor post 10 is carried by an arm 9 having semi-circular fingers 8 which engage a step 7 on a bridge 4. A regulator is similarly mounted on the bridge by fingers 11. A disc 18 is attached to a pin 14 and is a close fit in a hole in the upper portion 19 of a jaw 20. A plate 16 has upturned edges (17, Fig. 2 not shown), and is slidable along the arm 9 until it just touches the outer turn of the hairspring, the edges (17) then being crimped against the arm 9. On rotation of the head 15 of the pin 14, the disc 18 is eccentrically rotated so that the jaw 20 is moved to clamp the end of the hairspring against the plate 16. A suitable tool is inserted in holes 27 and 28 in a plate 26 and the arm 12 of the regulator respectively so that a reduced portion 30 of a curb pin 29 is slightly spaced from the portion 33 of the hairspring. A screw 23 is then rotated to trap the hairspring between the reduced portion 30 and a boss 25 threaded on the screw 23. Further rotation of the screw 23 clamps the plate 26 and the arm 12 between the head of the screw and the boss 25. Angular adjustment of the anchor arm 9 and the regulator arm 12 may then be effected by rotating the arms about their respective axes 35, 3.
