Abstract
1,162,586. Accumulators. L. FULLER. 26 April, 1968 [4 Aug., 1967], No. 35811/67. Heading H1B. Accumulators comprising positive and negative plates alternating with porous sheet separators, the whole pack being under compression in a casing and containing all the electrolyte absorbed therein so that there is no free liquid electrolyte are characterized in that each plate comprises a grid of lead or lead alloy not more than 0À07 inch thick filled with active paste and the separators are thinner than the plates. The paste may be lead oxide, the separators of kieselguhr and the case of ebonite. The accumulator may be a multi-cell battery, any free space being filled with porous material and the case being closed with a filler-vent.
