Abstract

1,161,050. Turbine operated power plant. BABCOCK & WILCOX Ltd. July 17, 1968 [July 17, 1967], No.34079/68. Heading F1Q. A power plant includes vapour generating apparatus provided with combustion means for the heating of the apparatus, a main turbine connected to be supplied with vapour from the vapour generating apparatus, an auxiliary turbine 3, a bleed passage 2 arranged to supply the auxiliary turbine with vapour bled from the main turbine, a heat exchanger 6, means for leading vapour exhausted from the auxiliary turbine through the heat exchanger as heating fluid and means 5 for leading combustion air to the combustion means through the heat exchanger. The combustion air may be led through at least one further heat exchanger (not shown) downstream relatively to the flow of combustion air of the above mentioned heat exchanger. The further heat exchanger may be supplied with vapour bled from the auxiliary turbine. The first mentioned heat exchanger 6 may be in the form of a condenser serving to condense vapour exhausted from the auxiliary turbine.
