Abstract

1,160,884. Microwave heating. MICROTHERM Ltd. 30 Jan., 1967 [4 Nov., 1965], No. 46841/65. Heading H5H. Cooling air blown over a magnetron feeding a microwave oven via a hollow waveguide ventilates the oven by means of a duct enclosing the waveguide and feeding the air to two groups of apertures situated in the oven wall on respective sides of the waveguide entry. Some of the air is fed via the waveguide itself. The size of the entry apertures, and of exit apertures provided in the oven door, is a small fraction of a wavelength so as to be substantially impermeable to the electromagnetic radiation.
