A press brake or guillotine has a moving beam 4 which is kept in its correct alignment by two pivoted arms 6 arranged so that the moving beam has an arcuate movement, each arm 6 being in the form of a box designed as a rigid bell-crank lever which receives movement from a hydraulic ram 8 pivotally attached at one end to the base frame of the machine and at the other end to the arm.
