Abstract
1,157,393. Preparation of glycine. ROHM & HAAS G.m.b.H. 2 Jan., 1968 [1 Feb., 1967], No. 279/68. Addition to 1,098,137. Heading C2C. Glycine is prepared by reacting aminoacetonitrile with an aqueous solution of NH 3 and CO 2 at above atmospheric pressure and at a temperature above 100 C. The molar ratio NH 3 : CO 2 is preferably at least 1 : 1. Aminoacetonitrile is prepared by the reaction of formaldehyde-cyanhydrin with NH 3 .
