[Also in Divisions B2 and D2] A duplicating process comprises applying imagewise pressure to a donor which is coated with inking material and which is in contact with a first receiving sheet, separating the receiving sheet and placing it in face-to-face contact with a transfer sheet and applying pressure, then separating these sheets so as to retransfer some of the inking material from the receiving sheet to the transfer sheet. The inking material contains pigment, wax, a resin and a modifying agent, and the transfer sheet (see Division D2) comprises a substrate coated with the same chemical type of wax and resin as are used in the inking material. Up to 20 copies can be obtained by pressing the transfer sheet against copy paper. Preferably the ratio of wax to resin in the transfer sheet coating differs from that in the ink by no more than 10%. The transfer sheet coating may be of weight from 0À5-3À5 lb./ream of the substrate. The wax may be microcrystalline beeswax, paraffin, palm, carnauba, polyethylene ouricury or candelilla wax or mixtures thereof the resin may be natural or synthetic, e.g. polystyrene, polyterpene, styrene-butadiene copolymer, chlorinated rubber, polymers made from hydrocarbon fractions, polyvinyl acetate, polyacrylic resin or cellulose acetate. The ink material can also contain a wax soluble dye, iron oxide, carbon black, coal fines and also petrolatum or polysiloxane as the modifying agent.
