Abstract
1,156,809. Reclaiming material from piles. BARBER-GREENE CO. 13 Oct., 1966 [14 Oct., 1965], No. 45849/66. Heading B8E. [Also in Division E1 A bucket wheel digging machine for digging away a bank of material 11 as it passes to and fro along the bank consists of a bucket wheel 25 disposed between, but extending laterally of, the bankside front and rear wheels or tracks of a chassis on which the bucket wheel is mounted for rotation about an axis substantially at right angles to the direction of advance of the machine. Dug out material falls from the buckets during the upper part of their travel on to a conveyer 61 extending across the chassis to beyond the chassis side that is opposite to that from which the wheel projects.
