A display device for use in copying machines has a base 11 provided with slots for the passage of ribbons 14 carrying information to be copied. The ribbons are wound on rollers 13, such that the required information can be moved opposite a window or aperture 16 in a cover sheet 15 which carries permanent information 20, Fig. 1 (not shown).
