Abstract

1,151,814. Gas storage containers. RUBERY,OWEN & CO. Ltd. 7 March, 1968 [31 March, 1967], No. 14813/67. Heading F4P. A compressed gas storage bottle 10, Fig. 1, capable of being stacked on a like bottle comprises upper and lower complementary steel pressings 10, 11 welded together at 14 and each having domed ends which are either dished or flattened at portions 12; the upper domed end having welded thereto at opposite sides of portion 12 a handle-forming tubular steel ring 15, and the lower domed end having welded thereto a planar tubular ring 18 surrounding portion 12 and of such diameter as to nest within the top ring 15 of a like bottle as shown in Fig. 2. A filling and discharge valve is housed in a socket 19 welded in an opening in the upper dished portion 12 and is protected by a hinged cover 21 which is received by the lower dished portion 12 of an adjacent bottle. Where the upper and lower end portions are flat the valve socket is secured to the dotted line position in Fig. 1 and the valve is protected by the upper ring 15.
