1,151,620. Gas/liquid fuel burners. SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. 29 Dec., 1967, No. 59247/67. Heading F4T. A gas and/or liquid fuel burner comprises an atomizer 1 at the outlet end of liquid fuel pipe 2 and concentric annular channels 6, 8, 11, 12 for respectively air, gaseous fuel, primary air and secondary air, the burner extending into throat 4 of a combustion chamber 5 and there being at the outlet end of channel 8 a deflector 9, divergent in the downstream direction of the burner but spaced a distance upstream of atomizer 1 equal to between one third and once the outer diameter of channel 8. The primary and secondary air is supplied from an air register 10.
