Abstract
1,150,235. Gear pumps. SINGER CO. Oct.19, 1966 [Oct.23, 1965], No.46652/66. Heading F1F. [Also in Divisions D1 and F2] A gear pump draws lubricant from space 36 through filter 46 and pipe 47. Drive gear 26 and meshing gear 25 circulate lubricant throughpassage 42, passage 52 in valve member 48 and passage 43. Gears 26, 27 circulate lubricant through passages 45, 53, 44. On starting a sewing machine to be lubricated, valve member 48 rotates through a small angle thus disconnecting passages 52, 53 from the circuits. Lubricant then flows through passage 64 to the machine. Lubricant is returned from the machine through passage 67. On stopping the machine, lubricant flow is stopped. An adjustable non-return check valve 92 determines the maximum pressure delivered to the machine.
