Abstract

115,026. Lundborn, M. April 11, 1917, [Convention date]. Ambulances; litters and hand-carried vehicles. -For carrying stretchers or beds on the recessed floors of motor ambulance vehicles, the distance apart of the legs of the stretcher or bed or a support therefor is adjustable according to the width of the recess to be bridged. The support may comprise a three-sided rectangular frame 1 adapted to be fixed to the side and end bars 3 of the stretcher or bed by straps 2. The legs 8 have bars 5 which slide in sleeves 6 on the frame 1 and are secured in position by thumb-screws 13. A stay 9 may extend from each leg to the flame 1 and it is secured to these parts in a manner which allows of its adjustment with that of the legs, by the thumb-screw 14 and rotatable collar 10. A support may be attached to one or both ends of the stretcher or bed, or the legs may be directly attached to the stretcher or bed.
