Abstract

1,149,472. Valves. USTAV PRO VYZKUM MOTOROVYCH VOZIDEL. 25 Jan., 1967 [26 Jan., 1966], No. 3571/67. Heading F2V. [Also in Division F1] In a valve, e.g. in an I.C. engine, a poppet valve 9 is movable by a rocker arm 14, the point of mutual contact therebetween being offset from the valve stem axis against the resilient loading of springs mounted between the outer end of the valve stem and a support member and a thrust member having at least inner and outer race members 5, 7 between the springs and support member. The offset of the rocker arm causes the valve to rotate during normal operation. Radial apertures in valve guide 8 permit lubrication of bearing 3 with surplus oil.
