Abstract

1,148,900. Molecular beams. GESELLSCHAFT FUER KERNFORSCHUNG m.b.H. 30 Oct., 1967 [25 Nov., 1966], No. 49220/67. Heading G6P. A particle beam is produced by the passage of gaseous material through a nozzle under such conditions of temperature and pressure as to form a mixture of particles and gas. The gas is separated centrifugally by causing the mixture to be deflected. The gas flows into the annular channel 9 and through the Laval nozzle 10. The condensed material leaves the nozzle as the annular beam 11 and the residual gas 12, at the outside of the beam are separated by the diaphragms 13. The nozzle opening is controlled through adjustment of the section 14 by the magnetic lifter 15.
