Abstract

1,148,515. Vehicle suspension. MOULTON DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. 9 Nov., 1967 [9 Nov.. 1966], No. 50149/66. Heading B7D. [Also in Division F2] A resilient unit for use in vehicle suspensions consists of an hydraulic accumulator A of the form described in Specification 1,096,319 (see Divisions F1 and F2) in combination with a rolling diaphragm operated fluid displacer B, the two being connected together as shown. Damping is effected by apertures 22 in a plate 21 within the accumulator, these apertures being controlled by a flexibly distorted valve element 23. There may also be constantly open ports 24 in the plate 21. The fluid system of the unit shown may be in communication, by way of conduit 15, to a like unit. Such a pair of interconnected units may be mounted one on each of a pair of wheels on the same side of a vehicle.
