Abstract
1,147,975. Electrical connectors. POSTMASTER GENERAL. 7 Oct., 1966 [8 Oct., 1965; 2 Dec., 1965], Nos. 42781/65 and 51213/65. Heading H2E. An electrical connector comprises an elongate base 1 having walls 2 between which are located bushes 11 retained by a locking member 6 which interlocks with at least some of the walls and which has apertures 10 affording access to screws &c. in the bushes. As shown, a thermoplastics locking member 6 has ribs 8 to resiliently engage slots 5 in the walls 2 and has transverse projections 9 to engage the tops of the bushes. Alternatively (Fig. 2, not shown), the locking member has a longitudinal rib (28) projecting inwardly from opposite side walls 1 to engage notches (25) in the outer edges of the walls 2 and a dependent central rib (29) to engage the bushes. The apertures in the locking member are preferably smaller than the screw-heads so as to hold the screws captive.
