Abstract

1,147,679. Presses. J. N. McMILLAN. 29 Nov., 1966 [21 Feb., 1966], No. 53310/66. Heading D1A. A machine for pressing uniforms comprises a manikin 1 having shoulder supporting portion 20, garment spreaders 9, 10 pressing bucks 7, 8 and a fan in a heat exchanger 6 for blowing warm air through a hollow base 2 upwardly through the manikin 1. The bucks 7, 8 and spreaders 9, 10 are moved by pneumatic pistons and the bucks may move downwardly as pressure is applied to remove horizontal creases. Steam chambers are provided in the front and new portions of the manikin and to the presser 7. The neck and shoulder portion 20, 20a are heated by either steam or dry air.
