Abstract

1,146,414. Knitting-machines. LUWA A.G. 5 Sept., 1967 [5 Sept., 1966], No. 40603/67. Heading D1C. A pneumatic arrangement for maintaining the feed points of a multifeed machine freed from dust and lint comprises completely enclosing the knitted head of the machine and providing two channel sections 50, 52 surrounding the needles and feed points one 50 of which is apertured to direct jets of air towards the feeders to disturb the dirt and lint accumulating about them and which is then removed through openings communicating with the second channel section 52 which is connected to a suction device drawing the air from them. The two channels may be situated one above the other or alternatively the second charmed removing the dust and lint may be situated above the dial of the machine. A channel 60 may be positioned above the dial to remove the dust and lint in addition to the channel 52.
