Abstract
1,146,091. Drums. I. A. ANTHONISZ. 27 May, 1968, No. 43963/65. Heading G5J. A snare drum has magnetic snare wires 1 which are controlled by electromagnets 11 The latter are mounted on hollow spindles 12 which contain leads to the electromagnets and are coupled by links 15 to a disc 16 on a spindle 17 adjustable by an external lever 19 to vary the position of the magnets. The wires 1 are attached at their ends to plates 3b slidable on posts 9, one of which has lateral extensions in guide holes in the lower core 7, and a screw 10 is provided to adjust the tension of the wires. The magnets are supplied with transformed and rectified A.C., the transformer, rectifier and a condenser being located in a tube forming the upright of the drum stand, a controlling foot switch being provided on one of the feet of the stand.
