Abstract

1,145,410. Bundling rods. BOTALAM. 15 March, 1967 [6 April, 1966], No. 12237/67. Headings B8A and B8C. Cradles carrying bundles 37 (Fig. 1) to be bound are formed by pairs of members 46, 47 carried on adjacent conveyer chains capable of relative adjustment to cope with different sizes of bundle. In the form shown a clutch (C) (Fig. 2, not shown) and a brake (F) permit one set of chains to be held while the other is adjusted by a slow-speed motor, or permit the two sets of chains to be driven in synchronism. One or more binding heads 30 is mounted for vertical movement on carriages 29 by which it may be positioned to effect several bindings in succession.
