Abstract
1,144,757. Seaming non-metallic sheet material. FIBREBOARD CORP. 20 April, 1967 [18 July, 1966], No. 18195/67. Heading B5K. [Also in Division B8] Adhesive on carton flaps is activated by hot air blown on to it by a nozzle bar extending between the overlying and underlying flaps. The bar itself may be heated and contact the flaps to reinforce the effect of the hot air. Cartons C are moved by conveyer dogs 21 along the nozzle bars 30, 30<SP>1</SP>, each of which includes a heater element, round which air is blown, and a thermostat. On each side, a holddown bar 22 prevents the carton rising and a bar 23 positions the flap F 2 relative to the flap F 1 and the bar 30, 30<SP>1</SP>. The bars 23, 30, 30<SP>1</SP> are adjustable angularly and vertically. Belts 36 apply sealing pressure after heating. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,079,150.
