Abstract

1,143,303. Bearings. BURMEISTER & WAIN'S MASKINOG SKIBSBYGGERI A.S. 20 Jan., 1967 [27 Jan., 1966]. No. 3196/67. Heading F2A. In a method of mounting a lower part 2 of a split bearing liner, a circumferentially tapered ring segment 1 is inserted between a shaft 3 and bearing support 5 before the liner. In the method shown in the Figure, the segment and liner are placed around the shaft and retained by cap 9. A driver 7 attached to the shaft is rotated by the shaft to insert the segment and the following liner. Lubricant is supplied by bore 6 during insertion.
