Abstract
1,143,117. Burners. GAS COUNCIL. 11 Oct., 1967 [14 Oct., 1966], No. 45961/66. Heading F4T. A burner which can operate with fuel gas and air, fuel gas and oxygen or both air and oxygen with fuel gas has oxygen supplied to a central tube 18, fuel gas supplied to a duct 20 formed between the tube 18 and a coaxial tube 21 and cooling water supplied to a jacket 27, the tubes 18, 21 being secured to a nozzle plate 23 having parallel discharge passages 24 for oxygen and forwardly convergent passages 25 for fuel gas, the outer tube 26 of the burner being slidably mounted in a bore of an air manifold 10 which supplies air through apertures 32 to the combustion chamber 15.
