1,142,820. Milling cutters. CHARLES CHURCHILL Ltd. 15 Sept., 1967 [20 Oct., 1966], No. 46940/66. Headings B3B and B3K. A face milling cutter comprises a cutter head 10 which carries a number of triangular throwaway cutting inserts 11 each insert having six cutting edges formed by the junctions of its triangular end faces with its side faces and having at each corner two facets a, b, c &c., each associated with a particular cutting edge. Each insert is positioned in the cutter head so as to have a positive axial rake and a negative radial rake, the facets provide a clearance angle to the workpiece.
