Abstract

1,142,858. Screw anchors. JOHN M. PERKINS & SMITH Ltd. 26 July, 1966 [9 Aug., 1965], No. 33969/65. Heading F2H. A screw anchor intended to be inserted in a hole comprises an elongated body having a threaded bore 11, a wedge-shaped recess 12, the longer surface of which extends obliquely to the length of the body, a piece 15 shaped to fill the recess, and a rod 14 connected to the piece 15 so that insertion of a screw-threaded member into the bore 11 causes the piece 15 to slide relatively to the body and increase its width. The longer surface of the recess 12 may be concave or convex, and the surface of the piece 15 can be a corresponding shape.
