Abstract
1,141,610. Analgesic apparatus. INGENIORSFIRMAN HOLMBERG & ANDERSSON A.B. 26 May, 1966 [26 May, 1965], No. 23661/66. Heading A5T. An apparatus for analgesic anaesthetisation by means of oxygen and an anaesthetising gas, e.g. nitrous oxide, is illustrated with reference to Fig. 4 and comprises an adjustable proportional valve 34 to control the ratio of oxygen to anaesthetic gas, and a feed control valve 16 downstream of the proportional valve for controlling the gas supply to a variable volume container 28 in response to the patient's consumption of gas by responding to the degree of filling of the gas container and in which the feed control valve also reduces the pressure of the gas mixture down to atmospheric pressure. The apparatus preferably comprises a pressure equalizing control valve 4, and an air valve 53 which operates on oxygen failure. Oxygen flow is via 2, 14', 6, 40 and 43; and anaesthetic gas is via 5, 14, 15, 41 and 44. A modified apparatus for connection to a hospital mains supply of oxygen and nitrous oxide is described with reference to Fig. 5 (not shown).
