Abstract

1,141,581. Mounting engine accessories. TRAKTORENWERK SCHÍNEBECK VEB. 10 Jan., 1967, No. 1236/67. Heading B7H. In a motor vehicle an engine ancillary component, such as an air filter 6, battery 7, radiator 8, oil tank or fuel tank 10, is movably supported in proximity to the engine on a mounting 4 and an engine cover 9 provides in its closed position by its periphery some walls of a space containing the engine and the component, the component being movable while on the mounting away from the engine, only when the cover is displaced from its closed position, to extend through the position of part of the closed cover. The cover 9, which is an engine bonnet, and the radiator grille 11 are pivotable about horizontal axes and the mounting comprises a pair of posts joined by a cross-member 5 and is removable with the engine ancillary components from the frame 1 of the vehicle. The ancillary components may be movable vertically in addition to being pivotable relative to the mounting 5.
