Abstract

1,141,543. Spring clips. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. 3 July, 1967 [5 July, 1966], No. 30163/66. Heading E2B. A resilient clip comprises a base portion 11 and a resilient arm 13 integral with the base portion wherein the free end of the arm is divided lengthwise into two transversely spaced fingers 15, 16, which are resiliently movable towards one another, the root portion of the arm being inclined outwardly from the base portion of the clip the two fingers being bent intermediate their lengths generally at right angles to the root portion of the arm and extending through the base portion and each finger being provided with a shoulder 18 or 20 (not shown) facing the root portion of the arm in that edge of the finger remote from the other finger. In the construction shown each finger has two additional shoulders 17 or 19 (not shown) and the clip is intended for securing a panel to a support formed with aligned apertures, the base. portion of the clip, in use, lying flat against the upper surface of the panel and the fingers extending through the panel and the support, with one of the shoulders of each finger engaged beneath the rim of the aperture in the support and the arm held thereby under tension to clamp the panel against the support. The base portion is bowed to provide resilience and the bowing is flattened in the assembled condition of the clip panel and the support; which pair of shoulders engages the support depends upon the combined thickness of the panel and the support and if desired more than two pairs of shoulders can be provided.
