A pickling solution comprises hydrochloric or sulphuric acid and an inhibitor which is from the group consisting of pyrrole, pyrrolidine, 1-methylpyrrole, 2, 5-dimethylpyrrole, indole, indoline, 2, methylindole, 2, 5-dimethylindole, and 3-pyrroline.
