Abstract

1,140,167. Hydraulic reciprocating pumps or motors. SUNSTRAND CORP. May 16, 1967 [Sept. 9, 1966], No. 22792/67. Heading F1A. A pump or motor comprises a rotary cylinder block 17 splined to a drive shaft 13 and engaging a ported valve face 60', pistons 26 in the block being connected by ball-ended rods 29 toabearing ring 33 slidably bearing on a cam-plate 35 supported by rollers 41 for tilting adjustment, rods 29 being maintained substantially perpendicular to the cam-plate by a support member 54 secured to bearing ring 33 and having radial slots locating rods 29 to permit radial movement but prevent tangential movement. The bearing ring and support member assembly is centred and held against the cam-plate by a part-spherical member 67 slidably located on an extension 68 of the cylinder block and biased towards the cam-plate by springs 70. The cam-plate is pivoted about a point 46, in the plane of cylinder block bearing 49, by a piston 79 controlled by a constant pressure valve 71 and acting against spring 83.
