In a toy pistol adapted to fire balls, the magazine chamber has a constructed region adjacent to the feed aperture to the discharge chamber to allow storage of a large number of balls without jamming in the feed aperture. The embodiment shown includes projections adjacent the feed aperture 4 of a shape which facilitate the passage of one ball at a time to the said aperture. Fig. 12 shows in plan view projections 9 and 10 of unequal length in one dimension, the elevation of such being shown in Fig. 13, which figure shows the final firing position 5 of the ball. Alternative arrangements of projections are shown in plan in Figs. 14, 16, 18 and 20, (not shown) and in elevation, respectively, in Figs. 15, 17, 19 and 21 (not shown). Fig. 3a (not shown) shows the firing mechanism, in which balls sequentially rest in the aperture 4 until the trigger 23 is pulled far enough back for the ball to drop into notch 24 of the said trigger. Further pulling of trigger 23 causes a projection thereon to pass through an opening 32 and the trigger to thus pivot about a pin 28, leaving the ball in the path of spring-loaded firing plunger 21, which is thus released. Spring 22 returns the trigger to its normal position.
