A hose clamp comprises a strip 2 which has one end region thereof secured to a sleeve 1 rotatably journalling a worm 4 having threads for meshing with grooves in the other end region of the strip when the strip is bent to annular shape with the end regions overlapping, the worm having a head 3 at one end, such head having a screwdriver groove 14 and also a number of regularly distributed peripheral splines 15 the splines terminating towards the threads of the worm such that the portion of the
