Abstract

1,038,243. Making tubes. BEASLEY FRENCH & CO. Ltd. March 2, 1964, No. 8678/64. Heading F2P. [Also in Division B5] A machine for making paper tubes from webs comprises three formers 36, 38, 40 in staggered relation to which are fed three overlapped webs 6, 8, 10 having glue lines 60, 62, 64 respectively. The three webs may be of the same or different widths and may be cut from a single web. The webs 6, 8, 10 are passed through a series of rollers which overlap the webs, the rollers being such that the amount of overlap can be varied. The glue lines 60, 62, 64 are then applied simultaneously, and the webs fed to the formers. The tubes so formed can then be cut up into bag lengths and one end closed to form either plain or block bottom bags.
