Abstract
1,035,793. Siloxane emulsions. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. Jan. 15, 1965 [Jan. 15, 1964], No. 1885/65. Heading C3T. An aqueous emulsion suitable as a mould release agent comprises from 0À4 to 40% (by weight) of a mixture of a hydrocarbonsubstituted polysiloxane having a viscosity at room temperature of from 40 to 20,000 cs., and a polyoxyalkylene compound in amount of 15 to 65% by weight of the siloxane, the polyoxyalkylene compound being a water-soluble copolymer of ethylene and propylene oxides in a molar ratio between 30:70 and 85:15 and having a molecular weight between 200 and 2500. A mixture of low and high viscosity siloxane oils may be used. In the example, a polyglycol ether, formed from equal parts (weight) of ethylene and propylene oxides, was mixed with a dimethylsiloxane oil and emulsified with water and sodium laurylsulphate.
