Abstract

Decorative panels are formed by casting an acrylic resin, containing decorative elements, in a casting cell the base of which is a transparent sheet of e.g. glass or a supported film which sheet or film is retained upon the finished panel as a protective covering. The base sheet prior to the casting may be treated with a priming agent to promote adhesion e.g. chromyl chloride, vinyl triethoxy silane, and vinyl trichlorosilane. The surface may be treated with a vapour of the substance or by a solution of the substance in a volatile solvent, e.g. toluene.
