Means for connecting a forage-harvesting machine 1 alongside a tractor 10 comprise a draw-bar 3 extending forwardly from the machine and connected at its front end to the front attachment point 9 on the tractor by means of a pivoted crossbeam 7, and a pivoted arm 21 at the rear end of the harvester for determining its lateral separation from the tractor, there being a strut 14 connected between the draw-bar and an intermediate point 12 on the cross-beam, the connection at the intermediate point being by way of a spring-loaded catch (Fig. 4) which locks the strut to the cross-beam when the tractor commences forward movement, there being a similar connection between the rear of the tractor and the end of the pivoted arm 21. The strut 14 terminates in a ball 13 joined to the strut by a neck 16 which enters a slot between a pair of cheeks 15 and is retained therein by a pivoted spring-loaded catch 18 when the beam 7 swings forward as the tractor advances. The arm 21 is hollow and carries the drive from the power take-off 29 to the harvester. The arm is pivoted vertically at 25 and horizontally at 22 and carries a spigot 32 at its end nearest the tractor. The spigot has a collar which can enter a hole 34 in a channel member 31 attached to the tractor draw-plate 30. When the tractor begins to move, the collar slides along the channel until it passes into the hole 34, the arm then being held firmly.
