Abstract
1,034,834. Switches, partly electromagnetic; heavy current switches. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. April 16, 1963 [April 17, 1962], No. 14789/63. Heading H2B An automatic circuit breaker comprises a contact carrier 7 carrying main and arcing spring-loaded bridge contacts 4, 5 and normally held in the closed position by a spring-loaded latch 6 engaging a pin 71. Upon overload a pin 92 attached to the armature 91 of an electromagnet assembly 9 releases the latch and the contacts are opened by electrodynamic repulsion, rebound and consequent reclosure of the contacts being prevented by a resilient stop 72 engaging a projection 73 of the carrier 7. In a multipole breaker release of any latch 6 moves a common trip bar 61 to release the other poles.
