Abstract

1,032,568. Writing instruments. HARE Ltd., R. W. Dec. 15, 1964 [Jan. 24, 1964], No. 3184/64. Heading B6P. A writing instrument, which may be a pencil, ball-pen, or an ordinary fountain pen, has a barrel 1 with a part 4 of triangular cross-section tapering at 4b towards the point end 2 and preferably also tapering at 4a towards the other end, and a cylindrical part 5 which merges into the part 4. At the remote end of part 5 a member 6 with a plug having a tight fit in the barrel is inserted. The faces of the portion 4 are slightly convex. If the instrument is a rectractible pen or pencil, the retracting mechanism is operated by a conical member 3 mounted at the point end of the barrel. The shape allows of better gripping of the instrument and prevents it from rolling.
