Abstract

1,031,650. Strut type independent suspensions. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. April 29, 1965, No. 18003/65. Heading B7D. A polytetrafluoroethylene bearing sleeve 24 is provided between the relatively movable parts 7 and 13 of a suspension strut 3 which is secured to a vehicle body at the top by a resiliently mounted ball-bearing 9 and at the bottom by a transverse track control arm 15 pivoted to the wheel spindle and an anti roll bar to absorb fore- and-aft forces connected at 21 to the track control arm. Preferably the axis of coil spring 5 is arranged at an angle to the strut axis.
