Abstract

1,028,269. Discharging liquids under pressure; ball pumps. E. R. CARTER. March 4, 1964 [March 5, 1963], No. 8780/63. Headings F1N and F1R. Dispensing apparatus for liquids or gases under pressure comprises a metal barrel 10 within which is suspended a bag 24 which may contain beer or a like beverage. The bottom of the bag rests on a division plate 21 which has perforations around its periphery. A tube 25 extends into the bag 24 and forms part of a dispenser valve unit 20. A connector 26 of a delivery pipe 27 is secured to the unit 20 by a bayonet coupling and when a number of barrels are stacked together the pipes 27 connect to a common delivery pipe 28 (Fig. 1, not shown). The dispensing fluid is supplied to the container 10 through a non-return valve 30. The pressure fluid acts only on the sides and top of the bag thereby avoiding disturbing any sediment at the bottom thereof (Fig. 3, not shown).
