Abstract

1,027,945. Starting. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Jan. 15, 1965 [Jan. 16, 1964], No. 1807/65. Heading F1K. Fuel for starting a fuel injection engine is injected into the intake manifold 12 under the control of an electromagnetically operated valve 11 controlled by a time switch 32, and switch 33 responsive to engine temperature. Switches 32, 33, are arranged in parallel in the circuit of a solenoid 28 controlling a switch 20 in the circuit of electromagnet 14. Pressing of the starter switch 24 to close the starter motor and ignition circuits 27, 18, also closes the circuit of coil 28 through the switches 32, 33, to close switch 20 and energize valve 11 to initiate the supply of starting fuel. Switch 32 opens after a short interval, e.g. 0À5 to 1À0 secs., but switch 20 remains closed until the engine temperature reaches a predetermined value, e.g. 40‹C., when switch 33 opens to break switch 20 and close the valve 11. If at starting the engine temperature is above the cut-off temperature of switch 33, valve 11 only remains open for the interval switch 32 remains closed.
