Abstract

1,027,424. Glazing &c. strips. COMPAGNIE DE SAINT GOBAIN and ETABLISSEMENTS HUTCHINSON (COMPAGNIE NATIONALE DU CAOUTCHOUC). Dec. 7, 1964 [Dec. 6, 1963], No. 49775/64. Heading E1R. A glazing &c strip for mounting a pane or other panel in a rabbeted edge of a frame E or other structural member, comprises a strip 1 of flexible and elastic material and of U-section with the end of one arm extended by a flange 3 parallel to the base and a metal frame 2 of similar contour to the strip 1 and insertable into a passage 12 in the strip 1 which passage divides the body of the strip into two lips 3a, 3b the upper lip giving access to the flange 9 of the frame 2 to permit it and the lip 3b beneath to be secured, as by nail &c. 11, to one wall of the rabbet c, d in the frame E. The upper lip 3a is reduced in thickness to provide a location for the head of the nail &c: 11. The other arm 6 of the U-section is extended at its lower end, to provide a lip 4 to abut against the wall b of the frame. Fins 5, 7 and 8 provide water tightness of the compact joints between the strip and frame.
