Abstract

Cellulosic material is dyed at an elevated temperature with a single dyebath containing a watersoluble thiosulphonic acid derivative or salt thereof of a sulphur dye, a reactive dye, alkali and reducing agent suitable for the sulphur dye. Preferably the dyebath is initially at a temperature of about 30 DEG C., is raised to 60-90 DEG C. and then cooled to 50-60 DEG C. Finishing by rinsing, oxidizing, soaping and rinsing may follow. Suitable ingredients of the dyebath are specified in the examples.
