Abstract

1,025,890. Drying apparatus. L. KESTING. May 8, 1964 [May 8, 1963; Aug. 9, 1963], No. 19187/64. Heading F4G. Apparatus for drying large prefabricated concrete building units formed in moulds constituted as trolleys 4 comprises superposed elongated drying chambers formed from a series of connected open-ended transportable cells 1 which are subdivided by horizontal intermediate floors 2 carrying lengthwise rails 3 for the trolleys. The chambers are heated by pipes 12 mounted under the rails and/or over the trolleys and having nozzles 13 to spray water on to the pipes to control the humidity of the chambers. The upper surface of the cells 1 also has rails to provide a working surface where the moulds are prepared and filled. The moulds are transferred into and from each of the compartments by a hoist at either end of the apparatus, Figs. 2, 3 (not shown), each formed by a platform raisable on screw columns, which platform may be tiltable.
