Abstract
1,025,763. Tractor power lift mechanisms. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. Nov. 12, 1962 [Dec. 4, 1961], No. 42629/62. Heading A1P. A tractor power lift linkage having automatic draft control operated from the upper link 2 of the linkage through a torsion spring 7 and linkage 10, 9 and 16 to actuate a shade valve 31 is characterised in that the supply of pressure fluid for raising the operating ram is delayed after operation of the valve 31 by a damped piston arrangement 38. In the neutral position shown fluid supplied from the pump 43 through conduit 30 to the cylinder 24 operates piston 38 to hold a spring-biased valve 41 open whereby fluid is returned through the valve and conduit 47 to the reservoir. For lifting, the valve 31 is moved to the left and pressure builds up in conduits 30 and 22 to operate valve 36 and so supply fluid to the ram 50. A time lag is incorporated in this operation since the valve 41, connecting the pressure fluid to reservoir, is held open by piston 38 until the fluid in cylinder 24 has exhausted through a restricted conduit 39.
