Abstract

1,025,231. Securing slabs. J. P. WOOD. Jan. 17, 1963 [Jan. 19, 1962], No. 2134/62. Heading E1B. In a reinforced concrete structure facing members 18, 19 are erected on both sides of the reinforcement 10, 11, 12, 13 and are secured thereto by anchoring means 20 having tongue and groove connection with the facing members, the space between the facing members being filled with concrete. The connections between the facing members and the anchoring means may be of dovetail or T-slot form either by slots or ribs in the members. The anchoring means 32, Fig. 4, has a slot 34 to engage a horizontal reinforcement 12 and a tongue 35 bent to engage a vertical reinforcement 13 and hold the bar 12 in the slot 34. The anchoring means may be double-ended to act as a tie between the two sets 10, 11 and 12, 13 of the reinforcement or a separate tie 14 slotted over the bars 10, 12 and bent round bars 11, 13 may be used. The reinforcement may be supported by tubular scaffolding 15 left in situ or protected by cardboard tubes 16, with notched flanges or clips 17 to engage the rods 10, 12, for subsequent withdrawal.
